Start of a good peice

First thing that struck me was the lack of punch in the kick. Try adding an EQ and compressor to the kick by itself to give it that real boost. The drums altogether are pretty boring. Some new sounds would definitely help. Maybe even some more complex rhythms.

The song only has two sounds going at once and they're mostly looping (the synth and the drums). You need to experiment with some bass and harmony and variations on the main theme. This takes a lot of practice and if you haven't done it before, it will probably sound really bad until you get the hang of it, but it would greatly improve your songs. Since you did a great job with a synth/drum combo, I'd suggest just going a small step ahead and working with just a bass, a synth and a drum line, until you can get good at that.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm just dissing you, I'd rather thoroughly write about what you did wrong than give you a couple lines about what you did right. With that said, the last thing I wanted to point out was the lack of effects. It seems like you aren't using a very complex program, or you don't know how to do the effects, but either way adding some reverb, echo/delay, compressors, flanger, chorus, etc. can greatly improve a song, so look into that.

What you have here is a skeleton for a great musical work. Once you learn to add some muscle, you can bust out some awesome music.

Good luck with your music - HybrisHybrid
